TiJ Tonight at the Goshen Fireworks

Celebrate the 4th of July with the Truth in Jazz tonight at the Black Squirrel Golf Club in Goshen! We’ll be performing outside the clubhouse from 8-9:30pm, with Fireworks beginning around 10:15pm. Bring your family & friends, lawn chairs, and blankets & come sit anywhere on the golf course to get a great spot for the big show!

Come Out to the Elkhart Jazz Fest!

Tonight & tomorrow, we will be performing on Main St. at the Civic Plaza in Elkhart as a part of the Elkhart Jazz Fest. Entrance to our performances is free to the general public. Performance times are as follows: Friday, June 25, 5:30 p.m. & Saturday, June 26, 6:30 p.m.

Goshen First Fridays Gig, Tonight!

Our jazz band season is now back in full swing for 2010, continuing tonight with a FREE concert as part of the Goshen First Fridays. The music starts at 8:30pm in the Goshen Theater, located on main street in Downtown Goshen. Don’t worry about the weather because this concert is indoors–just bring your family out to Goshen First Fridays for some shopping & eating at the local restaurants, then come over to the Theater for some music you can dance to!

Free Live Performance at McNaughton Park

Tuesday, Sept. 1st, the Truth in Jazz will be giving a free performance at McNaughton Park (across the street from Elkhart General Hospital) as a part of the City Concert Program. The performance begins at 7:00pm and will be about an hour long. This gig will take place outside, so bring a blanket or lawn chair (& maybe a jacket), and come out and enjoy the live music!

Charity Wine Tasting, Saturday at Elcona Country Club in Bristol

Don’t miss Truth in Jazz as we perform during the Vineyards Vibrations: Charity Wine Tasting, taking place this Saturday, August 29th from 6:00-9:00pm at the Elcona Country Club in Bristol! All proceeds from the event benefit the programs & services of the Elkhart Co. American Red Cross. Truth in Jazz will be performing from 6:30-8:30pm.

Tickets at the door are $35, so get them now for $25 by going to www.elkhartredcross.org or calling the Elkhart Co. Red Cross at 574-293-6519. You must be at least 21 years of age to participate in this event!

The Truth in Jazz is looking to fill-up our performance calendar for 2010, as well as squeeze-in a few more gigs this year. While we are always willing to accept donations, we do not charge anything for our performances (all our costs are underwritten by our sponsor, Goshen Health System).

Performance Review: 2009 Elkhart Count 4-H Fair

The Elkhart County 4-H Fair turned out to be a great time. Our Director was unable to be in attendance, but Scott Kitzmiller (lead alto) kicked off the tunes & kept us together while Kelly Armentrout (vocalist) served once more as our energetic MC. There was a fantastic turnout, despite the brief rain interruption, and we had a blast! Thank you all for coming out and supporting our group!

In the midst of the economic struggles our region is facing, many are cancelling events like the Jazz Fest because of the costs involved.
